is the branch of medicine dealing with healthcare for women,
especially the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting the
female reproductive organs. Unlike most specialities in medicine,
gynecology incorporates both surgical and medical expertise. Often
paired with Obstetrics, the branch of medicine dealing with
childbirth and care of the mother, the two practices combined are
often referred to as OBGYN.
